Entry #2: Connecting with Nature

Heyy! I hope everyone is doing well. I recently had an experience I wanted to share with everyone. I don't know about everyone else, but I love nature. That could include going to the park, going on hikes, and even camping.

I recently went camping with my family and some friends. We went up towards Payson to a camping area in the forest called Black Canyon Lake. As it is in the name, there are lakes near by that we went to during our trip. I won a $50 bet with my dad, because he didn't believe I would get into the the cold water, but I did! We stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights, Friday-Monday, for Labor Day. I loved our time there. We made delicious food that included some traditional Hispanic food. We also had a blast on the ATV's. On Saturday, we went off-roading as group on the trails all around the camp site. But one of my favorite parts while on the trip, was that during the night time, you can clearly see all the beautiful stars in the sky, which can't be seen in the city. I would sit outside every night, sometimes near the fire, and just looking up at the sky while listening to music. This is by far my favorite thing about camping. The pretty stars that shine so bright, it can often be breath taking.

When I got on these trip, I often find myself appreciating the beauties nature offers. Because it isn't every day that I see a bunch of tall green trees every where, wild animals, or the beautiful starry night sky. I really enjoy these trips because they allow an enjoyable way to unplug from the technology, reduce stress, and forget about all of my troubles. I believe it is a good idea that if people can, they should go camping, or even hiking is fine. Because, although though it makes me laugh at times, it can be humbling. It can make you see the beauties and wonders nature has to offer. And it makes you realize that it isn't all that being on the phone 24/7. It doesn't matter how many pixels or clear the picture is on the phone, it is much more beautiful in person.

Now, I know that it isn't for everyone to go out in the middle of the forest for a couple of nights, but even for the day is fine. Take the time to lift your head up from your phones and look up at how pretty the world can be. Don't be afraid let me know what your take is on this topic. Until next time!

  1. I also love nature. I agree that going to a forest allows you to escape from the city and technology. I love going camping; it is my safe place to relax from everything happening. I go to Bear Canyon Lake to camp. It is also at Payton, and I also want to camp for Labor Day.
